On June 2, 2017, the second plenary meeting of Shandong Nondestructive Testing Institutions Association was successfully held in Zibo. 84 representatives from 68 non-destructive testing institutions across the province attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Li Siwu, deputy director of the non-destructive testing work committee of China Special Equipment Inspection Association and secretary-general of Shandong Nondestructive Testing Institutions Association.

Xie Yun, Deputy Secretary-General of China Special Equipment Inspection Association, and Jin Yuqing, Director of the Management Department of Testing Organizations, attended the meeting. Wang Shunyao, Chief of Special Inspection Section of Zibo Quality Supervision Bureau, and Guo Huaili, Secretary-General of Shandong Special Equipment Association, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Liu Xiaobo, director of the Association of Nondestructive Testing Institutions in Shandong Province, made a summary report on the work of the Association for the past year since its establishment. This meeting specially invited He Ronghua, a senior engineer of the Chinese Academy of Atomic Energy, to talk about the radiation safety and protection of industrial gamma-ray flaw detection and the laws and regulations on the use of gamma sources for the delegates.

The meeting successfully completed all the scheduled agendas, and listened to Li Siwu, secretary-general of the trade association, on the relevant discussion proposals. The meeting focused on:

(1) Articles of Association of Shandong Nondestructive Testing Institutions (Revised Draft);

(2) How to implement the project inspection within the scope of Shandong area shall not be lower than the lowest cost of inspection and test in Shandong Province. To curb vicious low-price competition at the expense of testing quality and how to restrict units that violate regulations;

(3) Bottlenecks and difficulties encountered in the inspection work;

(4) What are the demands and suggestions of the Non-destructive Testing Committee of China Special Equipment Inspection Association.

Participants conducted extensive and enthusiastic discussions in groups around the focus of various work and hot issues.

Xie Yun, deputy secretary-general of the China Special Equipment Inspection Association, listened carefully to the suggestions of the representatives and fully affirmed the work done by the Shandong Provincial Association since its establishment. The next step of the work puts forward the requirements, and it is hoped that the testing institutions of the Shandong Provincial Association, under the leadership of the China Special Equipment Inspection Association Non-destructive Testing Working Committee, will further strengthen industry self-discipline, abide by industry standards, standardize testing behavior, and establish itself in the National Association of Non-destructive Testing Institutions A flag.

The second plenary meeting of Shandong Nondestructive Testing Institutions Association was a complete success.
